We live in a world of speed, where we want instant answers. But in the life of faith, many things are fulfilled over time. Patience is not passivity; it is trust that God is at work even when we cannot yet see the result.
Renewed strength
The prophet Isaiah gives us a promise for seasons of waiting: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles” (Isaiah 40:31). Waiting with God does not drain our strength; it renews it. He gives us exactly what we need for each stage.
Courage while waiting
David, who waited many years before becoming king, wrote: “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psalm 27:14). Waiting with hope means continuing to do good, to pray and to stay faithful, even when the answer is delayed.
For reflection
What are you waiting for God to answer in this season? How could you use this time of waiting to grow in trust?
